Flower Festival 2008 - Cavalcade

20th Annual Festival of Flowers at Christchurch!

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend of flowers and celebration over the last May Bank Holiday weekend, with record numbers of visitors.

As in previous years, the Festival was arranged by the members of the church Ladies Supper Club who, with helpers, were very busy serving delicious lunches and cream teas over the weekend. Funds raised at the festival will support two charities this year: 'Hospice at Home' and 'Homecall' (which provides a voluntary home visiting service for sight impaired people), and also to our ongoing church projects.

We were delighted that this year we were also able to make use of the adjacent Centenary House, the Church and Community Centre that is linked to Christchurch.

Our thanks to all the many people who have contributed in so many ways to the success of the weekend. To the Members of the Ladies Supper Club, who organise the whole event, to Wards of Bexhill for the loan of the top hat, to all those who helped to supply the stalls and provided food for the refreshments, to all friends who have helped in any way to make this Festival possible, and to all our visitors, many of whom return every year.
